ELECTRONIC CANDLE STANDS
The Kerry Oil Candle Company has been producing electronic votive candle stands for over 30 years. The stands come in three standard sizes, 22, 34 and 50 lights; and in three light styles, red, blue or clear glass, slim nylon and stubby nylon.
Stands in other sizes can be produced to order.
The stands are very easy to use in that all one need do is press the button in front of the light selected. The light then burns for a preset time (15, 30 or 45 minutes)and then goes out, leaving the light ready for the next offering to be made. The offering box and the buttons for the lights are not connected, to reduce the risk of switch failure which is a common problem with “coin in the slot” systems.
Long experience with the use of honesty systems has shown that offerings made on a free will basis are greater than those produced under a “coin in the slot regime”, as with an honesty system bank notes can be given.
A new candle stand will give sustained trouble free service over many years, particularly with power modules placed under each light in an up to the minute design, the use of LEDs in place of the former incandescent bulbs, and switch mode power units fitted with automatic shut off mechanisms should there be a problem. These newly designed components use very little power.
The modules are robust and reliable, but in the unlikely event of a module failing in service it can be easily unplugged and a replacement plugged in.

HISTORY
The Kerry Oil Candle Company has been producing electronic votive candle stands for over 30 years. The original business had its beginnings in Dublin in the 1970s. Its original goal was to solve some of the problems associated with the burning of the messy wax votive candles used in
most Churches.
Turn off the power at the wall, wait two minutes, then switch on again.
Depending on how much it is used, at least 15 to 20 years. We know of candle stands that are still in use after 25 years.
LED lights have been fitted to most new and reconditioned candle stands supplied since 2015. LEDs will outlast the rest of the candle stand.
Those candle stands have an operative life of about 20 years, although the incandescent bulbs will need to be replaced from time to time. Once a stand reaches the end of its working life, it can be replaced with a new unit, or (depending on dimensions) with a reconditioned one fitted with LEDs.
Extremely reliable. The initial power module was designed in Australia about 30 years ago, and progressively underwent six upgrades. When our manufacturer retired recently, the power module was completely redesigned using the latest technology.
The new light modules have a switch which can be moved to produce timings of 15, 30, or 45 minutes.
Candle stands are supplied with a standard 240V power lead. The Parish needs to ensure there is a power point nearby, and that there is a level floor area where the stand can be placed.
Yes. We only need to liaise with the parish cabinet maker to ensure that there is enough internal clearance for the light modules in the “one off” light unit, and that the hole sizes for the lights are exact.
